ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Welcome to the Cape Girardeau Public Library’s website!
On May 16, 2009, we opened the doors to our beautiful new state-of-the art library building. Members of the community have been streaming in ever since to use our meeting rooms, attend library programs, use the public Internet computers, borrow from our expanded book and media collections or just to sit awhile.
Thank you to all the voters/taxpayers who believed in the vision of a Destination Library. I hope you’ll use the library often and bring all your friends and relatives to see it for themselves. Please feel free to write or call me if you’d like a guided tour.
There have been a few changes to our online services as well. The magazine database has changed from EBSCO to Gale with a variety of ways to search for articles whether you’re doing academic or consumer research. When Rosetta Stone was no longer available to libraries for subscription, we found another foreign language learning tool called Mango. Check out our list of databases on the Subscription Database page of our website.
Now that we’re comfortably situated in our new space, we’ll be working on re-designing and updating our website. We know some of the needs of our online users, but we’re also open to any suggestions you might offer.
See you at the Library!
