About the Library
Welcome to the Cape Girardeau Public Library’s website!
On May 16, 2009, we opened the doors to our beautiful new state-of-the art library building. Members of the community have been streaming in ever since to use our meeting rooms, attend library programs, use the public Internet computers, borrow from our expanded book and media collections or just to sit awhile.
Thank you to all the voters/taxpayers who believed in the vision of a Destination Library. I hope you’ll use the library often and bring all your friends and relatives to see it for themselves. Please feel free to write or call me if you’d like a guided tour.
One year after opening our doors we migrated to a new catalog and library user database. We continue to "tweak" the new catalog to make it as user friendly as possible..but it is a work in progress. One of the best features, however, is an I-phone app called "BookMyne". Download this free app to have access on your I-device to our catalog and your library account.
Our most popular new service is a subscription to downloadable e-book and audiobook titles. The e-books may be used on any e-reader. There's a link from our home page. Feel free to ask the library staff at the Information Desk for further instruction.
See you at the Library!
