Computer Class: Sharing Digital Photographs
Instructor Ron Doughty will present an overview of photo sharing services: Photobucket, Flickr, and Shutterfly. The class will demonstrate how to set up accounts and how to use the various features available to set up photo albums. This class will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Registration is requested by Monday, May 21. Monday Night Book Club
Meetings of the
Monday Night Book Club are free and open to the public with no
registration required. Participants find books on their own. With
advance notice, Library staff can assist with obtaining books through
Inter Library Loan. Meet in the Conference Room at 7:00 p.m.

"Between the Covers" - Summer Reading Club
The Cape Girardeau Public Library Summer Reading Club begins June 2! The slogan for this year's reading club is "Between the Covers". To sign up for this year's reading club, sign up at the Information desk starting June 2, and participate with good reading, great programs, and prizes.
Nocturnal Animals Whoooo's that? Have you heard the crackle of dried leaves or noticed glowing eyes in the shadows on your evening stroll and walked a little faster? These sounds and sights are clues to the identities of our nocturnal neighbors, going about their normal activities. Join us to learn more about these fascinating creatures and then, maybe, the dark won't seem so scary. This program will take place on Monday, June 4 from 7-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. This class will teach the fundamentals of Microsoft's spreadsheet program, will describe tips and techniques, and will provide the opportunity to practice using the program. Don Collop - Cowboy Poet
Don Collop - Cowboy Poet, Chuckwagon Cook, and owner of the Flying T Bar E Ranch - will set up his chuckwagon outside the Cape Girardeau Public Library on Saturday, June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., demonstrating chuckwagon cooking and telling what life was like for the cowboy on a cattle drive. Get a glimpse (and a taste) of history at the library. This program is for all ages. Free and open to the public.
Computer Class: Photoshop Alternatives
This class will identify programs which are free or lower-cost than Photoshop and are easier to use in working with photos and graphics. The fundamentals of the alternative programs will be described and demonstrated, and the opportunity to practice using these programs will be provided. The program is free and open to

What Is Your Quilt Worth?
What is your quilt worth? Quilt appraiser and the designated Textile Appraiser for the Antiques Roadshow (when in the St. Louis area), Ann Hazelwood, will be at the Cape Girardeau Public Library to appraise your quilts. She will explain what Appraisers look for and answer all your questions related to quilts. If you do not have a quilt, you may still enjoy and learn from the show and tell. This program will take place on Saturday, June 23 from 1-4 p.m. Free and open to the public. No registration
required.
Film Series #1 - Stevie
Join us throughout the summer to watch documentaries addressing current issues. Each film will be followed by a group discussion. Stevie - "In 1995, James returned to Pomona, a rural town in Southern Illinois, USA. After 10 years with no contact, he attempts to reconnect with Stevie Fielding, a troubled young boy to whom he had been an 'Advocate Big Brother'. James's re-entry into Stevie's life is brief. The story then picks up again about two years later after Stevie is charged with a serious crime. Through interviews with Stevie and his family and friends, James paints the portrait of a man who is still very troubled while he tries to understand what led Stevie down the path of self-destruction." This program will take place on Wednesday, June 27 from 1-4 p.m. Free and open to the public. No registration required.
