Research on Early Native American Settlement

November 18 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Archaeologists used to believe that the first people to inhabit North America arrived about 13,000 years ago. Research over the course of the last several decades has significantly altered this timeline, suggesting that people arrived 20,000 years ago or more. Dr. Jennifer Bengtson, Associate Professor of History & Anthropology at Southeast Missouri State University, will present an overview of current archaeological research into this question.
