Program Description

Event Details

Join Sydney Waters to learn about ethics and how they affect us in every aspect of our lives from friends and family to work and school eventually leading into the career world. These discussions will prep students for the essay portion of our Better Business Bureau Scholarships we have available to high school juniors.

*Better Business Bureau® Serving Eastern & Southwest Missouri & Southern Illinois Student of Ethics Award Program recognizes high school students who personify high ethics demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history.  Two students will be selected by an independent panel of judges to receive a scholarship of $2,500 each, sent on their behalf to any accredited college or trade school of their choice. The scholarship must be used within three years of receiving the award and will be distributed to the student's college or trade school upon verification of enrollment. The scholarship must be applied toward school-related expenses, including Tuition, books, room and board, or other related items. Award certificates will be presented to recipient students at BBB's TORCH Awards event in fall 2024, and scholarship money will be sent to the colleges or trade schools after the students enroll. BBB will pay for the student to attend this luncheon banquet and will provide two additional tickets for the student's parents or guests.
