Let's Take a Shelfie!

Posted on:

We are back again folks with Library Shelfie Day! This fun little holiday takes place on the fourth Wednesday in January every year and celebrates books and their readers! So take some time to show off those shelves and tell us what your favorite books are. Last year the library showcased some of our personal shelves from home, but this year we are looking to showcase what our public library has to offer (spoiler- it’s a lot!). Some of the staff have taken the time to take a shelfie with their favorite section of the library. For many of us, this means the area where we find the most fun or are the most meaningful to us. So here are the staff and our favorite areas of the library. If you feel inspired, please share some of your own shelfies within CGPL.

Kayla, Adult Services: As one of the people that buys books for our collection, one of my favorite areas of the library is the River Collection. It features all the new fiction, nonfiction, biographies, large type, and audiobook options.
Renee, Youth Services: Look out for our new and improved board game shelves! A fun set of shelves for a fun set of staff!

Alli, Youth Services: The Teen New Books shelves are a fun place to find new Young Adult adventures to get your hands on.
Abby, Youth Services: I love the Youth Services Staff Picks Shelf. Want a recommendation? It's located between the Juvenile Fiction section and the Teen Room.

Sophie, Adult Services: I picked the genealogy room because I love historic preservation and believe knowing our history matters!! Check it out the next time you visit!
Victoria, Adult Services: Janet Evanovich in the mystery section is my preferred place to find my next read.
