Summer Reading

What is Summer Reading?

You may know that Summer Reading at the Cape Girardeau Public Library is a great way to encourage kids to continue reading while school is out for the summer. That's true...but it's so much more!

We've also got tons of events for all ages, reading challenges for all skill levels, and...did we mention prizes? Summer Reading is for EVERYONE!

Read books. Win prizes. Have fun!

Keep track of your reading progress and event attendance for your chance to win both weekly & grand prizes!

There are two ways to participate:

  1. Pick up paper reading logs at either the Adult Services or Youth Services desks, OR...
  2. Keep track of it all using ReadSquared! Download the app to your device or click here to get started.

This summer's grand prizes:
  • Tonieboxes + characters, Discovery Playhouse family memberships (ages 0-5)

  • Bicycles, Osmo Starter Kit, Teehouse gift cards (ages 6-11)
